The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is an immersive 21st Century Salon where art, music, horticulture, contemporary art and education programs truly come to life. To further expand the scope of the museum’s offerings, architect Renzo Piano was commissioned to design a new building adjacent to the original Museum, including a lounge, library, exhibition space, greenhouses and performance hall. Tank developed a comprehensive signage program including a full wayfinding system and digital platform.
Outside, a large logo wall brands the museum, and provides welcome, program and exhibition information. Inside, the admissions desk features an integrated digital display which informs visitors of the current and future programming at the museum. Subtle animations and imagery work in unison to complement the surrounding environment while providing clear, in-depth information. On wayfinding signage, an iconic mutant green brand color ties together the old and new wings.
